Basic Clinical 12 Lead EKG Interpretation

Does the thought of interpreting an EKG and missing something fill you with dread?  Even experienced clinicians will learn something new by going back to the basics of EKG interpretation with a practicing emergency medicine PA.  You'll learn a systematic way to work through an EKG with confidence and master foundational 12-lead interpretation concepts.

Learning objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:

1.  Describe cardiac anatomy and physiology and how EKG waves relate to physiologic events in the cardiac cycle.

2.  Recognize how abnormal wave patterns relate to problems with cardiac physiology.

3.  Identify common arrhythmias and know when immediate, life-saving treatments are indicated.
